ATTUKAL

Attukal is a famous Pilgrimage centre in Trivandrum City. Attukal is situated about two kilometres from East Fort. Attukal Temple has been popularly referred to as Sabarimala of the Women. In 2007, the Attukal Pongala has been reported that about 25 Lack devotees participated in it and it is a Guinness Book of Record.

Attukal Bhagavathy Temple is a popular temple that belongs to the prehistoric era. The temple is considered as one if the most famous ancient temples in the whole of south India.

VARKALA

Varkala, the famous beach resort is also famous for its 3500 year old Janardanaswamy temple. The temple is located close to the Papanasam beach, which is considered to have holy waters which was away sins, and is also an important Ayurveda treatment centre. Another major landmark in Varkala is Sivagiri Mutt, found by the great Sree Narayana Guru.

Attingal is a main town and municipality in the Trivandrum District. The historical fort of Anchuthengu is around 10 km from Attingal Town. The famous Siva temple of Avanavanchery Indilayappan Swami is within the Attingal municipal area.

Nedumangad is one of the four taluks of Trivandrum District. It is located around 20 km to the north-east of Trivandrum city. It is blessed with rich vegetation. Nedumangad is an important centre for trade of hill and forest resources like pepper and rubber. The Koyikkal Palace is nearby nedumangad, which is an excellent specimen of the traditional architecture of Kerala.

An agriculture wholesale market set up by the Agriculture Department with the assistance of the European Union is also situated at Nedumangad.

The tourist places near to Nedumangad are Ponmudi, Peppara Dam, Meenmutty Falls, Happyland, Thirichittoor Rock, Arasuparambu Sri Sastha Temple.
